Sant'Antioco

Sant'Antioco is an island of 'Sulcis of the archipelago, which stretches for nearly 109kmq, the only inhabited the island and are Sant'Antioco Calasetta. Isola di San Pietro

The island of St. Peter is one of two main islands of 'delSulcis archipelago, an area of the province of Carbonia-Iglesias, the island has an area of 51kmq and its only town is Carloforte. Washed by the sea clear, the island of St. Peter, of volcanic origin, has high and rocky shores, while the inner zone is characterized by a typical Mediterranean vegetation, and features are worth visiting some of the inland areas, such as the Basin Nasca, a reservoir that once supplied water to the country. Another place to visit, is the pond where Calavinagra, especially in summer, there are numerous nests of a rare bird of prey, the falcon of the queen: adjacent to it there is a pine forest, walking to the inland areas of the island, it's easy to find in rocks from the bizarre shapes, which the wind and weather have shaped over time: the most famous is that the islanders have christened with the name of mushroom stone.

Many of the beaches, the most important are: the beach of Bobba, white sand beach, set in two flaps of rock, beach Calavinagra, Cala Fico, a fjord surrounded by cliffs, and Caletta the beach, white sand contrasting with the dark color of the volcanic rocks that surround it.

And also there are: Cape Sandalo, Punta Black Beach Drive and the beach Bussell, are particularly evocative of the cave of Punta Geese and the Cave of Nasca, and the caves on the coast of Crescent.
